Job overview

Manage day-to-day imaging operations, including inpatient flow and elective hub activity.

Provide leadership and HR support for radiography and RDA teams.

Contribute to service planning, theatre scheduling, and site-based service development.
Main duties of the job
-
Day-to-day leadership and management of radiography teams at site level.
-
Ensure delivery of safe, efficient, and patient-centred imaging services.
-
Drive service development, quality improvement, and audit.
-
Support senior management colleagues across Imaging Division to ensure service continuity.
-
Lead on workforce planning, recruitment, HR matters, and staff development.
-
Work collaboratively with clinical colleagues to ensure timely, responsive imaging services.

Ensure compliance with legislation and Trust policies, including IR(ME)R and safeguarding standards.

- Trafford General Hospital - Imaging educational lead (postgraduate)
We are looking for registered professionals who:

Hold current HCPC registration.

Have significant post-registration experience, ideally with leadership or management responsibilities.

Bring excellent communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills.

Demonstrate strong leadership capabilities and the ability to motivate and support teams.

Committed to continuous service improvement and delivering high-quality patient care.
You should also be aware of competing pressures within hospital and Imaging services and be able to make decisions and prioritise according to clinical need and priority.

Essential criteria
- Graduate or clinical qualification relating to healthcare speciality
- Managerial or clinical/professional qualification equivalent to post graduate diploma or equivalent proven experience
- For any clinical work – HCPC registration or voluntary professional register
Desirable criteria
- Masters Degree or equivalent experience.
Experience

- Experience of managing healthcare services.
- Management of resources with a good track record with change management or efficiency savings
- Experience of developing and maintaining effective partnerships with stakeholders in the redesign of services.
- Experience of managing a diverse team
- Measurable track record in involving and motivating staff to improve performance
- Experience of successfully managing the implementation of change.
- Evidence of professional leadership, leading to innovation in practice.
- Experience of identifying education and training needs of staff utilising.
- Evidence of continuous professional development.
- Experience in clinical audit/benchmarking.
- Experienced in complaints management
- Several years’ experience of delivering a Clinical Radiology or other healthcare service
Desirable criteria
- Experience in workforce planning.
- Experience in setting establishments and using workforce toolkits including dependency tools.
- Experience in R&D.
- Experience of modernising services without additional resources.
Knowledge
Essential criteria
- Knowledge of managing within an NHS healthcare setting
