Fixed term for 12 months

Prif ddyletswyddau'r swydd

Aims and responsibilities:

To gain competency in managing patients with complex craniofacial anomalies. The craniofacial fellow will present craniofacial patients on the ward round and have an up-to-date working knowledge of the condition of all patients. The fellow will prepare and present cases for the radiology multidisciplinary. It is the fellow’s responsibility to ensure that all patients are prepared and clinical investigations obtained in preparation for theatre. They will ensure that all medical records are kept up to-date for inpatients. The fellow will coordinate care between the various multidisciplinary team members. The fellow will complete all craniofacial discharge summaries.

Clinical:

Involvement in the daily management of all craniofacial patients and attendance at outpatient clinics and multi-disciplinary team meetings. The fellow will coordinate and contribute to the training of junior doctors within the craniofacial team. Attendance at all operating lists with training to develop surgical competency in craniofacial surgery.

Wednesday AM: ward round, MDT Radiology meeting - PM: Outpatient clinic (craniofacial / facial palsy)
Thursday AM: Ward round, Theatre - PM: Theatre
Friday AM: ward round,  craniofacial clinic / monthly CMFOS clinic - PM: research

Experience

  • General training in Plastic Surgery/OMFS to ST3 level or equivalent. Exposure to craniofacial surgery.
  • 3 years surgical training
  • Ability to make independent decisions, supported by consultant staff

Qualifications
