The role - Te mahi

This Lecturer/Senior Lecturer/Associate Professor role represents an exciting opportunity to make a significant contribution to

ongoing teaching of dental students while being well supported by a collegial and dynamic Faculty and University.

Key tasks for this position include:

  • Conducting research-informed teaching across a range of courses in the Bachelor of Dental Surgery and Doctor of Clinical Dentistry programmes.
  • Contributing to curriculum design for undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
  • Supervising undergraduate and postgraduate research.
  • Undertaking research resulting in quality-assured publications within the discipline, either individually or as part of a group.
  • Contributing to the running of the Department, School, Division and the University.

Your skills and experience - Kā pūkeka me kā wheako

The successful candidate must be a dentist who is registerable with the Dental Council (New Zealand) in the endodontic specialist scope of practice.

The successful candidate will have:

  • A record of internationally peer-reviewed published research.
  • Excellent teaching skills at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
  • A collaborative and collegial approach to work.
  • Full understanding of the principles of the Treaty of Waitangi and the University's Māori Strategic Framework.

It would be preferred that the successful candidate also holds a PhD or equivalent.
