West London NHS Trust  provides a full range of mental health, community  and physical healthcare services for children, adults and older people living in the London boroughs of Ealing, Hammersmith & Fulham and Hounslow.

We also provide some specialist services that are commissioned regionally, such as our medium secure services; and nationally, such as the Cassel Hospital for people with complex and severe personality disorder and our high secure services at Broadmoor Hospital.

Exciting opportunity for 2026 podiatry graduates!

We are looking for an enthusiastic graduate, who is passionate about podiatry and aspires to be an advanced practitioner and drive change within our profession in the future.

We are offering a Band 5 developmental post. You will be supported by a preceptorship framework designed to prepare you for a Band 6 role in a fast-tracked and focussed way. We will introduce you to practice within the NHS , develop your clinical skills and confidence, as well as develop your personal skills to directly contribute to service development and delivery directives.

 

We are partnering with Professor Mark Tagoe’s Podiatric surgical team at West Middlesex Hospital, where you will spend 1 day every week ( for your initial 12 months in post) rotating through the specialist areas of surgery, medicine and imaging. The aim is to expand your medical and surgical knowledge and experience as you start on your journey towards being an advanced practitioner in our profession. As part of this process you will be expected to attend the Thursday evening teaching sessions which will give you the opportunity to further your knowledge base and research skills.  The successful candidate will also develop their presentational abilities by sharing the knowledge gained with the wider podiatry team.

Prif ddyletswyddau'r swydd

In the community, you will provide a podiatry service from multiple clinic sites delivering care close to home. You will  treat and manage patients with complex foot health needs and lower limbs that are at risk , prioritising people with active ulcers and high risk diabetes foot. You  will benefit from mentorship in the specialist areas of MSK podiatry and MDT diabetic foot management. You will also have the opportunity to join our nail surgery rota and and current research trials .You will be required to visit housebound patients in their own homes, so a means of transport is desirable.


The successful candidate will be required to work with a diverse patient population and interact with various stakeholders. You will therefore need to be an excellent communicator, great at team working and committed to providing excellent clinical care.

Experience

Skills and Abilities

  • Good verbal and written communication skills, including accurate record keeping.
  • Car driver with access to transport with appropriate business insurance to travel throughout the Trust, to meet needs of housebound patients
  • Basic IT skills with Microsoft applications and virtual consultation skills

Knowledge
