To work as a Gastroenterologist (Senior Medical Officer) in New Zealand, you must become registered to practice with the Medical Council of New Zealand.  Practitioners need to meet competency standards and hold Annual Practising Certificates (APCs) to work safely and effectively. Senior Medical Officers are on Tier 1 of New Zealand's Green List, which means you are eligible for the Straight to Residence Visa and can apply for New Zealand residency before you arrive.

Salary: 

·       The average salary package for Gastroenterologists in New Zealand is NZD $343,500 (GBP ~£149,290)

·       Packages are comprised of a base salary based on experience, plus allowances, and superannuation per the ASMS collective agreement
