Mid and South Essex NHS Foundation Trust is the only acute hospital provider in the Mid and South Essex Integrated Care System (ICS), which is a system of health and care partners working together for our local population.

Are you an ODP/Band 5 nurse looking to develop your skills into the cardio thoracic speciality as a Band 5 scrub nurse?
Do you have a positive attitude, strong work ethic and wish to work in a demanding, yet dynamic department?
We have an exciting opportunity for an ODP/Nurse to join our multi-disciplinary theatre team at The Essex Cardiothoracic Centre. This role requires an enthusiastic, committed and diligent person who is keen to move into a specialist department, able to work within a dynamic team and will strive to maintain the high standard of care offered to our patients. There will be an on call commitment required as part of the post to cover out of hours working. There will also be an opportunity to develop further skills in scrub and recovery.
NMC or HCPC registration is essential. Please demonstrate your suitability for this role in the Further Comment Section of the application form, as this will be a highly sought after position.
Main duties of the job
In your role you will be required to work as a competent member of the Cardiothoracic Theatre team, performing a wide range of duties in the scrub practice areas.
You will be responsible for assessing care needs and the development, implementation and evaluation of programmes of care, developing and maintaining good unit management and organisational skills and assist with the provision of an environment conducive to the education of staff.
Your duties will also to include the cleaning, maintenance and safe handling of equipment
