As part of our community mental health, Surrey and Borders Partnership Trust are committed to providing robust clinical pathways and ensuring that people using our services and their families have timely access to high quality, evidence-based psychological interventions. To support delivery of our clinical pathways we are investing in a range of psychological practitioner roles, which will sit within/work across our new community neighbourhood teams.  
Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, to provide systemic assessments and treatment in family therapy for children, adolescents and their families, practicing within relevant Codes of Practice and drawing on a range of models and techniques

The job will be within our Mindworks  Community Mental Health children services, and the base will be at Unither House, Chertsey.

Prif ddyletswyddau'r swydd

Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, to provide highly specialist systemic assessments and treatment in family therapy for children, adolescents and their families, practicing within relevant Codes of Practice and drawing on a range of models and techniques.

To formulate a range of treatment options based on an appropriate conceptual framework and employing methods based upon evidence e.g., NICE guidelines.

To work in ways which are sensitive to and appropriate for the needs of families from a wide range of racial, cultural and religious backgrounds.

To provide systemic psychotherapy as an autonomous clinician, drawing on a range of models and techniques. To practice in a way which is inclusive and considerate of the needs of each individual in the system, their varying developmental stages and current emotional state.  Ensuring that consultation, assessment and treatment interventions are provided in partnership with children, adolescents and their families.

To ensure that appropriate feedback on caseload is provided to relevant stakeholders, and that feedback from service users is utilised to enhance and develop service delivery. To be responsible for attending CPA meetings and reviews where appropriate.

Qualifications

  • MSc or AFT Qualifying level course in Family & Systemic Psychotherapy
  • UKCP Registered as a Systemic Family Psychotherapist

Experience

  • Demonstrable experience working with children, young people, families and groups.
  • Demonstrable experience in a Band 6 role within a multi-disciplinary setting
  • Substantial experience of working as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Ability to prioritise case referrals, assessment and discharge effectively on an individual basis or within multidisciplinary team.
  • Specialist expertise in particular areas e.g., eating disorders, child protection issues, attachment difficulties
  • Experience in working with multiple types of family structure
  • Demonstrable experience of working in a mental health setting
  • Substantial experience in offering supervision and consultation

Driving license

  • A full UK driving license is desirable but not essential
