Trust Doctor in Obstetrics and Gynaecology (ST4+)

ST4+

Job overview

Applications are invited for a 12 month, full time Trust Doctor post in Obstetrics and Gynaecology working alongside consultants with other middle grade registrars and clinical fellows at ST4-7 level in Obstetrics and Benign Gynaecology Specialty Business Unit.

The Royal Surrey has a reputation in our community for being friendly and welcoming, while delivering excellent care. We are looking for new colleagues who can embody that spirit. Team working helps us deliver the best care for our women, and also makes us a safer and more resilient team.

Our shared vision for the future of our department is one that is data driven and woman focused. Using data to improve processes allows us to improve the care women receive, while making it easier for clinicians to deliver services.

We'd love to talk with you about the opportunities available here and how you can help contribute to the future of our department.

Main duties of the job

The post-holder will work as part of the team, rotating between consultants to allow for a wider experience. Whilst the needs of the service are paramount, individual training needs are taken into account and training needs accommodated when possible.

Although this is not a training post, applicants will be encouraged to gain postgraduate qualifications in Obstetrics & Gynaecology, including SITM training. Continuing professional development is encouraged.

The post is also suitable for candidates wishing to complete their specialist training via the Portfolio Pathway route working with appropriate Consultant SITM supervisor at the Royal Surrey NHS Foundation Trust, Guildford. Support in studying will be given to appropriate appointees.

Working for our organisation

Royal Surrey is a compassionate and collaborative acute and community Trust. Recognising that our 5,000 colleagues are our greatest strength, we offer a comprehensive health and wellbeing programme alongside a strong commitment to developing your career. Our diverse and welcoming Royal Surrey family ensures you feel valued from your initial interview and throughout your time with us.

We are clinically led and provide joined-up care by bridging hospital and community services, alongside delivering regional specialist cancer care. Our main acute hospital site is in Guildford, with community sites at Milford, Haslemere and Cranleigh, and services delivered in patients’ homes across Guildford and Waverley.

We work in partnership with Ashford & St Peter’s Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust through a collaborative Group Model, supporting joined-up services, workforce flexibility and development opportunities.

The Care Quality Commission (CQC) has rated us as Outstanding. We are proud of our achievements and continue to invest in our people and infrastructure.
