West London NHS Trust provides a full range of mental health, community and physical healthcare services for children, adults and older people living in the London boroughs of Ealing, Hammersmith & Fulham and Hounslow.
We also provide some specialist services that are commissioned regionally, such as our medium secure services; and nationally, such as the Cassel Hospital for people with complex and severe personality disorder and our high secure services at Broadmoor Hospital.

We are seeking to recruit trainee Education Mental Health Practitioners (EMHPs) for Hounslow Mental Health Support Teams (MHST). The post is permanent conditional on successful completion of training in a range of cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) based self- management interventions to children and young people with mild to moderate anxiety and depression and/or behavioural difficulties. As this is a Postgraduate level training, you will be required to study and perform at academic level. Applicants must be prepared to work towards their studies outside of protected study time (such as on weekends and after work) and must be willing to travel into London to attend their lectures.

Job summary
In line with the governments priority to increase access and availability of mental health and wellbeing support for children and young people, the Education Mental Health Practitioner (EMHP) role is an exciting opportunity to deliver evidence-based early interventions for children and young people, working across both educational settings and healthcare sectors in England.
Main duties of the job
This is a training position post holder will undertake training at Kings College London alongside working in service for Hounslow MJST. They will be taught to deliver evidence based guided self-help interventions for children and young people experiencing mild to moderate mental health difficulties. The post holder will use their newly developed skills to support children and young people who are referred into the service and trainees will receive supervision to support their professional development.
Applicants will need to be ready to start work in early/mid-January 2025 and posts cannot be offered to candidates unless they can guarantee this start date.
