Job overview
We are seeking an exceptional and highly skilled Headache GP in to work within the neurology department to further develop the headache services in West Herts, and will be instrumental in providing specialized care for patients with chronic migraines.
The successful candidates will be expected to work 09:00am – 5:00pm one day a week and with the flexibility to work across all three sites.
Main duties of the job
Specialised Headache Services: Lead and manage a weekly specialist migraine
• Multidisciplinary Collaboration: Work closely with multidisciplinary teams (including neurologists, pain specialists, and primary care physicians) to provide safe, effective and holistic care for patients with headache disorders.
• Service Development: Assist with developing the headache service, with a focus on improving patient outcomes, treatment pathways, and overall service delivery.
• Clinical Governance: Participate in clinical governance processes, including audits, risk management, and service evaluation. Ensure compliance with clinical guidelines and safety protocols.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
Evidence of success in running a headache practice.
Commitment to teaching undergraduate and postgraduate medical students, as well as junior doctors
Proven ability to teach and train clinicians in complex headache management, including new treatments and therapies.

Essential criteria
- Full registration with the General Medical Council (GMC) and inclusion in the GMC Specialist Register
- MRCGP(UK) or an equivalent qualification.
Desirable criteria
- Experience Managing headache disorders such as migraine in a secondary care setting.

You must have appropriate UK professional registration.
