Our Vision is to provide the best mental health, learning disability, autism, community, and physical health services for the populations we serve.
As an integrated Trust, Lancashire and South Cumbria NHS Foundation Trust (LSCFT) delivers a comprehensive range of services, including:
- Primary and secondary mental health care for children and adults, including specialist inpatient child and adolescent mental health provision, perinatal mental health, and forensic services with low and medium secure care.
- Specialist mental health inpatient care for individuals with learning disabilities, alongside specialist community support for children and adults with learning disabilities and autism, including intensive support.
- Extensive community physical health and well-being services for children and adults, covering prevention, treatment, rehabilitation, and long-term condition management.
The Trust was first established in 2002 and employs approximately 7,500 staff who provide care from more than 400 sites. The organisation offers opportunities for medics, mental health, general nurses, children’s nurses, allied health professionals, psychology, administration and clerical staff, apprentices and volunteers, as well as those specialising in learning disabilities and community physical health services.

Due to the promotion of the current post-holder, a vacancy has arisen for a Band 7 Clinical Psychologist in the Chorley Adult CMHT. The Post is within Central and West Lancs. locality, which has a Team of 11 Clinical Psychologists and CBT Therapists. We offer Placements to Trainees from the Liverpool, Manchester and Lancaster University Training Courses.

The Post Holder will be supported with good Professional and Clinical Supervision, and we actively encourage CPD. The Post is suitable for a newly qualified Clinical Psychologist.

Qualifications

- Doctoral level training (or equivalent) in clinical psychology, including specifically models of psychopathology, clinical psychometrics and neuropsychology, two or more distinct psychological therapies and lifespan developmental psychology, as accredited by the BPS.
- Eligibility for registration with the HCPC as a Practitioner Psychologist (Clinical )
Knowledge

- Skills in the use of complex methods of psychological assessment, intervention and management. Skills in the use of and interpretation of Neuropsychological Testing e.g WAIS V etc
- Well developed skills in the ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing, complex, highly technical and/or clinically sensitive information to service users, their families, carers and other professional colleagues both inside and outside the NHS.
- Doctoral level knowledge of research methodology, research design and complex, multivariate data analysis as practiced within the clinical fields of psychology.
Experience

- Experience of specialist psychological assessment and treatment of Adults across the full range of care settings, including outpatient, community, primary care and in patient settings.
- Experience of working with Adults presenting problems that reflect the full range of clinical severity.
Skills

- Ability to sustain intense levels of concentration, responding and participating as required.
- Ability to self-reflect and use clinical supervision appropriately.
- Ability to cope in, and deal with, highly distressing emotional circumstances.
