An exciting opportunity has arisen to lead and manage our End of Life care (EoLC) Education and Improvement Team. We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic expert nurse educator to champion and improve EoLC across Imperial NHS Trust. This is a rewarding and varied post, working with, and training different staff groups across all specialities to improve outcomes for our patients and those important to them at the end of their lives.
This post would suit an experienced nurse educator who has excellent communication skills, a good understanding of end of life care and experience of managing a team. They will need to demonstrate flexibility to respond to a variety of competing priorities, to be self-motivated and to work autonomously as well as being part of a team. They will support staff to deliver compassionate end of life care in line with the Trust’s End of Life Care Strategy and National Ambitions. They will work closely with the Specialist Palliative Care team and the Trust’s education teams.
Prif ddyletswyddau'r swydd
- To provide strategic leadership for driving high quality end of life care across the Trust
- To design and oversee delivery and reporting of strategic objectives for end of life care education and improvement
- Provide expert clinical and professional leadership championing and influencing high quality end of life care, including expert clinical advice
- Provide clinical leadership to the End of Life Steering Committee, steering and reporting against deliverable targets to improve end of life care
- Ensure collaboration with patients and stakeholders.
- Lead the development of policies and practices to guide and support best practice in end of life care
- Oversee and drive the delivery of end of life care education and training
- Oversee and drive the delivery of and spread of rigorous improvement practices to deliver high quality end of life care
- Lead audit, monitoring and data driven approach
- Provide clinical leadership for the patient safety incident response to end of life care.

- Current Clinical registration – NMC or HCPC and educated to postgraduate diploma /degree level
- Post registration clinical qualification(s) in speciality or relevant subject at level 7 e.g. Palliative and / or EoLC
- Recognised teaching qualification e.g. Postgraduate Certificate in Clinical Education
- Management certificate or equivalent experience
