Senior Diabetes Specialist Nurse

Band 7

Trosolwg o'r swydd

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and motivated Diabetes Specialist Nurse to join our Specialist Community Diabetes Service. Based at the Diabetes Centre at King Edward VII Hospital, you will provide expert, evidence-based care for adults with diabetes across East Berkshire, working in outpatient clinics, community settings and in partnership with Primary Care.

You will manage a varied and rewarding caseload including insulin initiation and optimisation, diabetes technology, insulin pump therapy, pregnancy and young adult diabetes, whilst supporting people with complex diabetes needs to achieve the best possible outcomes. You will also play a key role in educating patients, supporting healthcare professionals and driving service improvement across the local health system.

We are committed to supporting professional development and innovation, offering opportunities to develop specialist expertise, undertake audit and research, contribute to service redesign, and work closely with multidisciplinary colleagues across primary, community and acute services. This role is ideal for an experienced Diabetes Specialist Nurse looking to develop clinical leadership skills within a forward-thinking and supportive team. A Non-Medical Prescribing qualification is desirable; candidates without this qualification will be expected to undertake it as part of the role.
