Employer heading
Directorate Support Manager – Community Diagnostic Centre
Band 6
Job overview
Do you enjoy leading teams, improving services and making a real difference to patient care?
Community Diagnostic Centres are transforming the way diagnostic services are delivered across the NHS. We're looking for an ambitious Directorate Support Manager (Band 6) to join our growing leadership team and help shape the future of diagnostic services across Ely and Wisbech Community Diagnostic Centres.
The CDCs play a vital role in improving access to diagnostics for local communities, supporting national diagnostic recovery priorities and delivering high-quality, patient-centred pathways closer to home.
The role supports one of the Trust's fastest-growing services, delivering thousands of diagnostic appointments each year across multiple clinical specialities.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to develop towards a senior operational management career within the NHS. You'll work alongside experienced operational and clinical leaders, leading service improvement, transformation projects and pathway development across one of the Trust's most innovative services.
You will be required to travel between the 2 sites, with Ely being the main location. This is a full-time (37.5 hours) position. As part of an operational leadership team supporting a seven-day service (08:00–20:00), a flexible approach to working is required. If this sounds exciting and like the opportunity you have been waiting for, we want to hear from you!
Get in touch to discuss further.

Support recruitment, induction, appraisal, and development of operational staff
Contribute to service planning, pathway redesign, and new ways of working aligned to the national CDC programme
Support governance activity including incident review, complaints, information governance, and policy compliance
Act as a visible operational presence across sites, supporting consistent standards and effective communication
