An exciting opportunity has opened up to join our Orthopaedics team at St Michael's Hospital.
This is a Band 6 Physiotherapy post, working 18.75 hrs per week. There is a requirement to cover weekends, twilight shifts and bank holidays on a rota basis.
The Orthopaedic physiotherapy team at St Michael's is a hard working, dynamic collective of individuals, who are looking forward to welcoming an enthusiastic and skilled new member to their team.

Main duties of the job
To provide a high standard Physiotherapy service to patients at Royal Cornwall Hospital Trust
To provide specialist assessment, treatment, and goal setting of Orthopaedics patients on the wards at St Michael's. Some patients may have complex and/or chronic presentations. To determine clinical diagnosis and Physiotherapy treatment indicated. To maintain records as an autonomous practitioner.
You will develop highly specialist skills under the guidance of the Senior staff.
To provide clinical cross cover within your team, and as part of the RCHT Trauma and Orthopaedic team, as delegated by your Clinical Team Lead
To attend clinical level discussions / meetings relating to your area of work as delegated by your Clinical Team Lead

Knowledge
Essential criteria
- Degree in Physiotherapy
- HCPC Registered
- A clear idea about why they want to work at St Michael's
Desirable criteria
- Membership of CSP
- Membership of relevant special interest groups
Experience
Essential criteria
- Comprehensive experience in acute hospital setting, including a range of post qualification rotations.
- Significant orthopaedic and MSK out patient experience.
- Experience of working within a multidisciplinary team, a good understanding of their roles and respect for the other professionals within the team.
- Experience of working in a team of people including qualified and unqualified staff.
- Experience of working out of hours and awareness of risks associated with unsupervised / lone working
- experience of supporting students as a clinical educator
Desirable criteria
- Experience working in an NHS setting in the following clinical areas: Trauma & Orthopaedics Medical, Respiratory, Neurology, Musculo-skeletal
