Job overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 6 Registered Mental health nurse to join a well established, highly respected Treatment and Physical Health team in Rochdale.

Main duties of the job

To be part of the day to day running of the Treatment team, leading junior members of staff, teaching and performing venepuncture and administering depot medication. An extensive knowledge of the use of Clozapine and working within a community mental health team is essential. The post holder will be expected to take on a lead role in clinics, leading by example.

Essential

Essential criteria
  • NMC nursing qualification
  • Experience of working in a Community Treatment team
Desirable criteria
  • Venepuncture trained
  • Extensive knowledge or training in the use of Pochi equipment
  • Experience of working in Community mental health

Knowledge

Essential criteria
  • Strong working knowledge of mental health medications
  • Strong working knowledge of effects and side effects of psychotropic medication
Desirable criteria
  • NMP or willingness to undertake training

Work related circumstances

Essential criteria
  • Full UK driving licence with business insurance and use of/ ownership of a vehicle
