Job overview

Newham University Hospital is located in Plaistow, in the heart of East London. The hospital is based on Glen Road and is well connected by public transport, with a number of bus routes serving the hospital and connections to nearby Underground stations.

Originally opened as Newham General Hospital in 1983, Newham has grown into a busy acute hospital providing care to one of the most diverse populations in England.

The team at Newham provides a wide range of services to the local community, including emergency and urgent care, surgery, children's services, women's health and maternity care. The hospital also provides Same Day Emergency Care, supporting patients who require specialist emergency assessment and treatment without necessarily needing an inpatient admission.

Working at Newham offers the opportunity to care for patients from an incredibly diverse range of backgrounds in a busy and fast-paced environment where no two days are the same. With teams working across emergency, acute and specialist services, it is a great opportunity to develop experience within one of London's major NHS trusts.
