Please see below for detailed job description of the role.
Prif ddyletswyddau'r swydd
The paediatric Gastroenterology team are excited to be recruiting an enthusiastic and dynamic Band 6 Nutrition Nurse Specialist. This will be a one-year seconded post full-time 37.5 hours a week.
As this is a dynamic role that requires specialist knowledge, you will be supported to do appropriate training for professional development.
The role will include covering the maternity leave of the current Nutrition CNS in providing care, guidance, support and education to patients and families with a wide range of complex nutritional needs.
This would include day to day management of patients with intestinal failure requiring Parenteral Nutrition (PN). The successful candidate will be expected to develop specialist skills to support families, both in the clinic setting, inpatient care and via telephone/email.
Some of this development will be in participating in joint consultant and nurse-led clinics, where they will learn how children and young people are assessed, diagnosed and treatment options discussed. They will be responsible for supporting children through surgical procedures and specialist infusions on our day ward.
They will also be expected to support the feeding clinic, as part of the feeding MDT, where they will gain vital knowledge and education in supporting children with feeding difficulties and dependent on parenteral or enteral tube feeds. This role is integrated within the gastroenterology and nutrition Clinical Nurse Specialist Team.
