Job overview
We are looking for a self-motivated compassionate, caring, enthusiastic and hard-working individual to help and support the clinical staff within the Clinical Imaging Department. The post-holder will be required to travel to community sites and hospitals on an ad-hoc basis and therefore a driving licence is essential.
Previous experience working with patients or customers and basic clerical/keyboard skills and computer literacy are essential for the post. Previous experience as a carer would be desirable.
We may accept full time or part time applicants. Commitment to out of hours and weekend work may be required. Applications from those looking for part time hours will be considered.
Main duties of the job
The Clinical Imaging Assistant will be required to undertake a very wide range of duties under the direct supervision of the Clinical Imaging staff, and these will encompass clerical, patient care and the transportation of patients to all Imaging departments.
You will need to be an excellent communicator with good inter-personal skills, have a practical approach and mechanical aptitude. A good general education is necessary including being computer literate with good IT skills.

Essential criteria
- Good education to include Grade A-C GCSE (or equivalent) in English and Mathematics and/or relevant NVQ Level 2
Desirable criteria
- Experience of working in Ultrasound as an assistant
Exeperience in healthcare
Essential criteria
- Prior experience of working with the general public
- Computer literate with basic IT skills
Desirable criteria
- Previous experience of working within the NHS of Healthcare system
Practical/Intellectual Skills
Essential criteria
- Effective and adaptable communication skills
- Ability to work quickly and efficiently to a consistently high standard
Desirable criteria
- Knowledge of aseptic non technique and sterile procedures
- Able to complete pre-procedural checks in at least one modality
