We are pleased to invite prospective applicants to apply for a position to work in our CAMHS Ipswich team working within our pioneering Children, Families and Young People’s (CFYP) Services. This 1.5 WTE role offers opportunities for job sharing and flexible  working.

Less than 2 hours from London (yet a world away in terms of house prices and cost of living) and serviced by excellent transport links, Norwich is one of few UK cities that still retain a strong local identity and with that a strong sense of community – people walk down the street and say hello to each other, baristas remember our coffee order, you get to know about interesting local projects.

Main duties of the job

The East Suffolk CAMHS service is seeking two enthusiastic and committed Consultant Psychiatrists to join a fully staffed and supportive multidisciplinary team. You will be based at the Walker Close, Ipswich. There is an opportunity for 1.5WTE vacancy post in SCAMHS.

You will be working as part of a fully staffed multidisciplinary team, alongside two full‑time Consultants and one Associate Specialist, contributing to the ongoing development of CAMHS and supporting expansion of newly developing under 18 crisis team.

You will be providing assessment and formulation for new referrals and maintaining a caseload of young people aged 0–18 with complex mental health presentations, including oversight of medication and treatment plans.

Delivering clinical care across a range of Trust settings, which may include other Trust sites, primary care locations, local acute hospitals, Children’s Centres, and home visits where appropriate.

Working in accordance with NICE and QNCC standards, supporting ongoing service development and contributing to quality improvements across Suffolk CAMHS. The service follows the i‑THRIVE Framework, a needs‑led, person‑centred approach that promotes shared decision‑making and improves access to the right support at the right time.
