Are you ready for a new challenge? We are looking for an experienced pharmacist to join our friendly paediatric pharmacy team at St Mary’s Hospital, Paddington.
What you’ll do:
- Deliver high-quality pharmaceutical care for children and young people with haemoglobinopathies and bone marrow failure syndromes as part of our stem cell transplantation programme.
- Help manage medicines governance and support cost-effective prescribing.
- Provide training and teaching for pharmacists and the wider team.
- Support risk management, audit and quality improvement.
- Support new drug applications.
- Provide clinical and specialist support to the outpatient pharmacy partnership.
- Deputise for the Senior Lead Pharmacist and other Leads, when needed.
Who we’re looking for:
- Solid foundation experience with hospital paediatric pharmacy.
- Specialist experience in stem cell transplantation (training can be supported)
- Systemic anti-cancer treatment (SACT) or cytotoxic accreditation in paediatrics.

- Masters Degree in Pharmacy or equivalent
- Active registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC)
- Completed Diploma or MSc in clinical pharmacy practice or equivalent experience
- Undertakes continuing professional development (CPD) and maintains a CPD portfolio
- BOPA SACT passport accreditation or equivalent experience

- Royal Pharmaceutical Society (RPS) membership
- Neonatal and Paediatric Pharmacy Group (NPPG) membership
- Non-medical prescriber annotation with GPhC
- UK BMT passport accreditation
- Management/Leadership qualifications
Experience

- Post-registration training and experience in hospital pharmacy including significant experience in paediatric pharmacy.
- Evidence of experience in all aspects of hospital pharmacy practice (medicines Information, ward services and dispensing)
- Evidence of experience in haematology/oncology, stem cell transplantation and verification of cytotoxics
- Multi-disciplinary ward round experience
- Demonstrate the ability to appropriately recommend, assimilate and communicate complex therapeutic options for patients.

- Previous experience in managing staff and conducting appraisals
- Financial reporting and management of appropriate clinical medicines expenditure
- Paediatric TPN experience, aseptics experience
Skills

- Ability to influence senior pharmacy and medical staff, the multidisciplinary team and senior management.
- Ability to analyse and provide valuable insight from drug usage reports.
- Able to work under pressure and make clinical decisions with limited information.
- Demonstrates good understanding of key NHS objectives and international standards relevant to the role
