This is an exciting opportunity to join our team in the Managed Care Infusion Unit, Victoria House (SGH).
This role delivers a high standard of care for patients attending the unit for a range of IV treatments including biological therapies. Referred by many specialities, our patients attend the unit for a course of IV therapies required for their clinical conditions. This services supports patients to be at home to manage their conditions without remaining in the main hospital setting.
In this role, the successful candidate will join a passionate, nurse led service who have exceptional relationships with their patient cohort and amongst their fellow nursing team. The team have strong professional relationships with wider MDT- all of which contribute to a seamless journey for the patients in their care in the department.
In the band 5 role, this candidate will report to the wider band 6 team, line managed by the senior sister Emilia Moutchia.

In this role, your key responsibilities will include joining our nurse led service to deliver IV therapies (including biologic therapies) in an outpatient setting at SGH. The successful candidate will work in accordance with agreed policies to assess, plan, implement and evaluate care for patients attending the service, ensuring patient safety at all stages of the patient journey and delivering an individualised plan of care for the patient group.
The candidate will need to demonstrate a passion for high standards of care, show autonomy and responsibility of being part of a nurse led service, demonstrate importance of working closely as a team but also independently, and highlight their organisational and prioritisation skills.
The service works Monday to Friday with no weekend or night working at the current time. The unit is based at Victoria House but often supports inpatient areas with some bespoke IV therapies. There is no option to work from home due to this being a patient facing role. There are clear opportunities for training and development within the service.

- Qualified Nurse (Degree/Diploma)
- Registered nurse on appropriate part of the register
- Knowledge of current issues within acute Health Service
- Understanding of personal accountability
- Knowledge of own role within the team
- Provide evidence of teaching and supporting learners in practice in the role of practice supervisor
- Awareness of evidence-based practice
- Awareness of responsibilities for management of infection control
- Able to use initiative
