Are you a highly motivated individual with a passion for innovation and a desire to excel in a fast-paced environment? If you have over two years of critical care experience and at least one year in Radiology Nursing, along with a keen interest in the technical aspects of nursing, we have an exciting opportunity for you! We are currently seeking a Band 6 Sister/Charge Nurse to join the Interventional Radiology team at St Mary's Hospital.

As a Band 6 Sister/Charge Nurse, you will be a key leader in the team, aligning with our trust values to ensure the delivery of high-quality patient care in this innovative environment. The position provides many opportunities to gain valuable managerial skills, offering a solid foundation for career growth.

The successful candidate will have a unique chance to make a difference in the service, working collaboratively with radiologists, radiographic staff, and anaesthetists to provide care for complex patients across all imaging modalities, including Angio, CT, Ultrasound, MRI, and Recovery.

Prif ddyletswyddau'r swydd

  • The post holder will support the Senior Sister/Charge Nurse in the delivery of quality care and the provision of a continuous efficient and effective service. In addition, the role will support the provision and post procedural care of other imaging guided procedures. 
  • Provide supplementary leadership to the nursing team, keeping Departmental and Trust objectives in focus.
  • Supervise, manage and develop the nursing team in line with the direction of the Lead Nurse.
  • Facilitate the on-going professional development of newly appointed staff, junior or less experienced Nurses, Imaging Assistants, Student Nurses and Radiographers / Radiography Students in accordance with Imperial Trust policies and procedures. 
  • At all times adhere to all Imperial policies and procedures and NMC Code of Professional Conduct.
  • Maintain the high standards outlined in the Department’s Philosophy of Care by keeping abreast of current research and promoting best practice.
  • Support the service improvement programme, actively participating in data collection, process mapping and meetings as required.
