We are looking for a dynamic and compassionate leader to join our senior team. This high-impact role provides strategic and clinical leadership across nursing, midwifery, and AHPs with a focus on the delivery of Education (both under graduate and post-graduate) and workforce development. As the Trust lead for Advanced Practice and Non-Medical Prescribing, this individual will need to maintain up to date clinical knowledge and a wider understanding of the national agenda.

Reporting directly to the Professional Director of Nursing and Patient Experience, the Deputy Director of Nursing and Multidisciplinary Education will be integral to the delivery of the Education plan, and to the leadership of nursing across the whole Trust including workforce aspects, as the lead for Safe Staffing in Nursing.
The post holder will support the delivery of the Nursing, Midwifery & Allied Health Professionals (AHP) strategy for the Trust. This will include the development and delivery of professional standards and the development of leadership within nursing and AHPs.
The post holder will directly manage the Head of Nursing and Practice Development, supporting the Trust Practice Development team, the Resuscitation Service Manager and the PA to the Deputy Directors of Nursing along with professionally supporting the Matron for Research.

Trust lead for Safe Staffing in Nursing
This role supports both the Chief Nurse and the Medical Director in the management of the Quality Directorate helping to ensure high quality day to day professional leadership and management.
This role is accountable for exemplary nursing leadership and governance of the Trust, building relationships both within and outside the NHS, and dedicated to the delivery of nursing services that meet quality standards, are value for money and are provided with professionalism, compassion and care and will deputise for the Professional Director of Nursing when required.

Qualifications

- Current NMC registration: First level Registered Nurse
- Educated to MSc or equivalent experience at a senior nursing managerial level
- Post qualification or equivalent experience in nurse education / practice development such as ENB 998 or equivalent mentorship qualification
- Demonstrates recent professional updating
- Quality Improvement qualification

Knowledge

- Knowledge of key issues and complexity and pace of change facing the NHS nationally and locally, with the ability to assess and describe impact on services.
- Sound knowledge and understanding of complex governance arrangements and standards in the NHS and the wider health and social care economy
- Experience of managing services, including finance Business and human resources
- Fully conversant with the national nursing agenda and the impact of national initiatives on the profession
- Evidence of having developed new initiatives, including multi- professional working
- Experience of implementing service change/reconfiguration and modernising services
- Substantial nurse management experience, including an acute setting
- Evidence of continuing professional development
- Experience of effective partnership working with a range of agencies and stakeholders
- Experience of implementing service change and modernising services with a proven track record in improving patient experience and gaining public /patient views.
- Ability to write and present Board level papers including experience of developing business cases
- Good understanding of current and developing NHS policy
- Comprehensive understanding of the professional nursing agenda
- Knowledge of the governance agenda and role of the CQC, NHSE/I,NMC
