Job overview
Oxford Health Charity is entering an exciting period of growth, with an ambition to increase the scale and impact of charitable income raised to support patients, families, carers and staff across Oxford Health NHS Foundation Trust.
This is a new, fixed-term 12-month opportunity for an experienced fundraising professional to join the Charity team and provide dedicated capacity to develop our fundraising potential. The post has been created to enable the Charity to maintain momentum across its fundraising programme while the Head of Charity takes on additional operational and line management responsibilities.
Working closely with the Head of Charity and wider Charity team, the postholder will contribute to the development and delivery of the Charity's fundraising strategy, helping to build a stronger and more ambitious fundraising pipeline.
This is an opportunity for a proactive and creative fundraiser who can combine strategic thinking with practical delivery, build strong relationships and identify opportunities to generate greater income and impact. The successful candidate will play an important role in strengthening the Charity's fundraising capability and creating a strong foundation for future growth.

Main duties of the job
- Lead the development and delivery of Oxford Health Charity’s fundraising plans, aligned to strategic priorities, income targets and growth ambitions.
- Develop a diverse fundraising portfolio, growing sustainable restricted and unrestricted income across trusts and foundations, corporate partnerships, philanthropy, major gifts, legacies and individual giving.
- Lead high-value fundraising opportunities, developing compelling cases for support, strategic propositions, major projects and appeals.
- Build and manage a strong pipeline of prospective funders, donors and partners through prospect research, relationship management and CRM systems.
- Lead the strategic development of corporate fundraising, including partnerships, sponsorship and employee engagement opportunities.
- Identify funding opportunities for transformational projects and capital programmes, working with the Head of Charity and Trust colleagues.
- Provide specialist fundraising advice to Charity and Trust colleagues, strengthening funding propositions and fundraising activity.
- Develop effective stewardship to retain supporters and maximise long-term value.
- Monitor fundraising performance, forecasts and pipeline activity, using data and sector insight to drive growth and improvement.
- Contribute to fundraising, impact and pipeline reporting to the Charity Committee and other stakeholders.

- Significant professional fundraising experience, with demonstrable success in securing income against agreed targets
- Experience of developing compelling funding proposals, cases for support and fundraising propositions
- Experience of monitoring fundraising performance, forecasting income and reporting on fundraising activity and impact
Desirable criteria
- Experience of fundraising within a charity, NHS or other complex organisation
Skills
Essential criteria
- Strong relationship-building, influencing and negotiation skills, including the ability to engage senior stakeholders and high-value supporters
- Highly developed organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple fundraising opportunities and competing priorities
- Ability to develop innovating approaches and identify opportunities for income growth
Desirable criteria
- Experience of using a fundraising CRM such a donorfy
Knowledge
Essential criteria
- Knowledge of fundraising principles and restricted and unrestricted income generation
- Knowledge of fundraising and charity sector regulation

The postholder will have access to vulnerable people in the course of their normal duties and as such this post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (Amendment) (England and Wales) Order 2020 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service to check for any previous criminal convictions.
