Job overview
We are seeking an experienced and inspirational sexual health Matron to provide visible, compassionate and effective leadership across the axess sexual health & HIV services in Liverpool, Cheshire East, Warrington, Halton and Knowsley.
The post will provide clinical and operational leadership to clinic managers, ensuring high standards of governance, patient safety, quality improvement and service performance whilst working under local and organisational policies and procedures. You will provide professional and operational assurance and deputise for the assistant director of nursing when required. You will provide robust governance and CQC-ready oversight, using workforce, quality, performance, incident and risk data to identify trends, gaps and areas for improvement, developing and monitoring action plans and ensuring timely escalation where required.
Main duties of the job
You will be adept in risk and incident management, ensuring learning is embedded across the services, and you will present clear assurance, trends, risks and improvement actions at governance meetings.
Linking with Trust nursing and professional peers, you will drive consistent standards, patient safety, quality improvement, workforce development and service transformation, while providing highly visible leadership and championing an excellent patient experience
The postholder will also act as a senior professional representative for the service, developing and maintaining effective relationships with external partners and service stakeholders, including attendance at regional networks, and linking with local authority and NHS England teams, to contribute to strategic discussions and service development, and to share best practice

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
Providing senior clinical leadership and support across the service-wide nursing team to ensure the delivery of safe, effective and high quality patient-centred care.
Overseeing clinical and professional standards, supporting and supervising staff, promoting safeguarding and infection prevention, monitoring performance, managing and presenting risks and incidents through divisional groups and ensuring compliance with relevant policies, legislation and organisational requirements.
Works collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams and partners to improve patient experience, access and outcomes

Essential criteria
- Clinical Professional Qualification. Degree level or equivalent
- Post-graduate/registration Management or Training qualification /equivalent
Experience
Essential criteria
- Demonstrable experience as a clinical manager, with responsibility for clinical quality, people management, budget responsibility and successful delivery of performance targets and quality standards within strict financial controls.
Knowledge
Essential criteria
- Understanding and appreciation of diversity
- Key issues and pace of change facing the NHS nationally and locally, assess and describe impact on nursing/clinical professional service.
Desirable criteria
- Principles and impact of the NHS Constitution
