Job overview
An opportunity has arisen to recruit a Band 8a Clinical Psychologist within our new and developing Adult ADHD and Autism service.
We are seeking a dynamic, highly motivated Clinical Psychologist, ideally with experience of working in a community setting. As registered professional, you will be committed to providing a high-quality service and will support in the development of our ADHD and Autism clinic.
The service will cover the East and West of South Staffordshire offering remote and face to face appointments.
You will have experience with Autism assessments and ideally ADHD, although appropriate training will be provided. You will be completing Autism and ADHD assessments for diagnosis.
Main duties of the job
You will be joining multi-disciplinary teams that value psychology input. Multi-disciplinary team working is central to the role. We are establishing a formulation led programme of interventions including Trauma Stabilisation and Hearing Voices group programmes as well as individual work. You will be involved in providing teaching, supervision and consultation to other team members as well as working directly with service users and their families. You will take a lead in the development and provision of additional psychologically informed programmes along with MDT colleagues.

Qualifications
Essential criteria
- Post-holder is registered with the Health Professions Council (HCPC) and eligible for BPS registration as a Chartered Clinical/Counselling Psychologist,
- Post-graduate doctoral level training in clinical/counselling psychology (or its equivalent for those trained prior to 1996) as accredited by the BPS
- Post-graduate training and accreditation in psychological approaches, courses accredited by the BPS, BABCP, EMDR Association Europe, or equivalent.
Desirable criteria
- Evidence of continuing professional development as recommended by relevant professional bodies.
Experience
Essential criteria
- Assessed experience of working as a qualified psychological therapist at a highly specialist level and extensive experience of supervision of others.
- Experience of working with a range of client presentations, including experience working with people who have a diagnosis of psychosis and/or severe mental health problems, across a range of care settings. Maintaining a high degree of professionalism in the face of highly emotive and distressing problems.
- Experience of exercising full clinical responsibility for clients’ psychological care and treatment, both as a clinician and as a supervisor of others.
Desirable criteria
- Experience of representing psychology within the context of multi-disciplinary care.
- Experience of the application of psychological therapy in different cultural contexts. For example NHS, MoD.

You must have appropriate UK professional registration.
