Job overview

We have an exciting opportunity for a motivated and enthusiastic Band 3 Therapy Technical Instructor to join our team. This role is ideal for someone looking to develop their skills and experience within a supportive and dynamic service.

You will work alongside therapists to support the assessment, treatment and rehabilitation of patients with respiratory conditions across inpatient, outpatient and community settings. This includes supporting patients on respiratory wards, facilitating safe and timely discharge from hospital and assisting with the delivery of pulmonary rehabilitation, community rehabilitation and home visit programmes.

Applicants should be able to demonstrate relevant therapy-based competencies, ideally gained within a Band 2 or Band 3 role in the NHS or a similar healthcare setting. Experience of delivering prescribed rehabilitation programmes under the supervision of registered therapists is desirable, along with excellent communication, organisational and team-working skills.

A comprehensive competency-based training programme will be provided, supported by regular supervision, education and development opportunities with senior members of the team. This will enable you to develop the knowledge and skills required to work confidently across a range of respiratory rehabilitation settings.

The successful candidate will be required to work between 08:00 and 17:00 and participate in a 7-day working rota, including weekends and bank holidays.

Main duties of the job

To provide a high standard of therapy assistant service to ward, group and clinic based patients.

To carry out tasks delegated from professionally registered staff, appropriate within clear guidelines and to supervise less experienced staff in the clinical areas, ensuring patient focused care is delivered.

To be responsible for the continuation of rehabilitation programmes during weekdays, weekends and bank holidays.

To enable patients to achieve their optimum level of independence in mobility and activities of daily living

The post holder will participate as a member of the multi-disciplinary team assisting with specified duties and to take responsibility for planning their own work duties.

Working for our organisation
