Job overview

An Oculoplastics Service Clinical Fellow post is available on a full-time basis at Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust. This is a permanent  appointment which is due to  commence on 3 February 2027.

The Trust provides a busy and expanding Oculoplastics Service to patients across Buckinghamshire, East Oxfordshire and West Hertfordshire.

The successful applicant will be required to provide logbook evidence of their surgical experience, together with an audit of their surgical outcomes and complication rates. This post is ideally suited to candidates who have some experience in Oculoplastics and wish to further develop their clinical and surgical skills. However, candidates without previous Oculoplastics experience will also be considered on their merits.

Candidates must hold full GMC registration with a licence to practise in the UK.

We anticipate this to be a popular post and this advert may closer earlier than the advertised, we therefore welcome interested candidates to apply early.

Main duties of the job

A Clinical Fellow post in the subspecialty of Oculoplastics is available at Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust. The post is based across the Trust's hospitals, including Stoke Mandeville Hospital, Wycombe General Hospital, and Amersham Hospital in Buckinghamshire.

Our hospitals are located in an area of outstanding natural beauty and are within easy reach of both London and the Midlands.

The successful applicant will gain experience in the clinical and surgical management of Oculoplastic conditions, including patient assessment, clinical decision-making in the outpatient setting, and Oculoplastic and cataract surgery.

The post holder will also be expected to undertake occasional cataract operating lists and provide fellow-level support to the Acute Eye Casualty Clinic when required. Research and audit activities are actively encouraged. Supervision of junior trainees may also be required, depending on the successful candidate's level of experience.

Please note that we reserve the right to close this vacancy earlier than the advertised closing date.
