Job overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen within the School Nursing Service for a School Health Assistant.  This vacancy, will be 22.5 hours, and will be paid at Band 3 and based at Ty Derwydd, Llangefni, Anglesey. The role will involve working alongside the School Nursing teams and will include a variety of tasks including contributing to the Child Measurement Programme, Vision and Audiology Screening, and general administration support. Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • Good standard of education, including GCSE English and Maths Grades A-C or equivalent Level II qualification.
  • Minimum of 46 credits from any pillar of the Credit and Qualifications Framework for Wales mapped to an individual’s job role at level 2 (60% of which must be at level 2).
Desirable criteria
  • Community experience.

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Experience of working with children and young people
Desirable criteria
  • Experience of working in health visiting, school nursing, children’s social care team or education.

Aptitude and abilities

Essential criteria
  • Be able to demonstrate tact and diplomacy when working with others.
  • Ability to engage members of the public.

  • Ability to speak Welsh.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
