Shape the future of maternity care at Bristol NHS Foundation Trust
We are seeking experienced Band 6 Midwives to join our supportive maternity team at an exciting time of development, including the opening of our new Maternity Triage Unit.
This varied role offers opportunities to develop your career across community, midwifery-led, inpatient and specialist maternity services. You'll rotate through:
• Community and Continuity of Carer Teams
• Midwifery Led Units at St Michael's and Weston Hospitals
• Ante/Postnatal Ward
• Central Delivery Suite
• Transitional Care Unit
• Maternity Triage Unit
Our Community Teams and Midwifery Led Units provide opportunities to support low-risk pregnancies, births and postnatal care, building meaningful relationships with families and delivering personalised care. You'll also gain exposure to specialist maternity services within the South West's major tertiary Fetal Medicine Unit.
As a Band 6 Midwife, you'll practise autonomously while being supported by an experienced multidisciplinary team and senior midwifery leadership. You'll coordinate clinical activity, support junior colleagues, contribute to service improvement and have access to ongoing professional development opportunities.
Please note: This vacancy is open to midwives with post-registration experience, able to practise at Band 6 level. Newly qualified midwives, students awaiting PIN and candidates requiring Band 5 preceptorship are not eligible. Previous applicants need not apply.
Main duties of the job

We focus on providing the opportunity to gain appropriate experience to enable progression to band 7.
