Job overview
Are you an organised and enthusiastic individual who wants to make a real difference to the lives of children and young people?
We are looking for a motivated Project Support Officer to join our friendly and forward-thinking CAMHS Transformation Programme. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a team that is passionate about improving mental health services for children, young people, and their families across Dorset.
Working with the CAMHS Business Manager for Transformation and the wider leadership team, you will help support a range of projects, quality improvement initiatives, and service developments that are shaping the future of CAMHS.
This is a varied and rewarding role where your organisational skills, attention to detail, and ability to build positive working relationships will be highly valued. You will provide essential project support through coordinating activities, maintaining records, producing reports, analysing information, and helping to keep projects on track.
We welcome applications from people with previous project support experience or transferable skills gained in other settings, we'd love to hear from you. If you enjoy working collaboratively, are keen to learn, and are passionate about improving services, this could be the role for you.
This is a full-time 18-month secondment opportunity, although flexible working arrangements may be considered. Fixed-term applications are also welcome.
Main duties of the job
Key responsibilities include:
- Supporting the delivery of transformation and service improvement projects.
- Collecting, analysing and reporting performance and workforce data.
- Producing reports, presentations and project documentation.
- Supporting business case development and service reviews.
- Coordinating meetings, preparing agendas and taking formal minutes.
- Maintaining electronic systems and records to support operational delivery.
- Assisting with workforce planning activities, including roster administration.
- Working collaboratively with clinical, operational and external stakeholders across the system.
Working for our organisation
At Dorset HealthCare we’re on a mission to empower people to make the most of their lives through our outstanding, joined-up healthcare services. We’re a dynamic, forward-looking Trust, running 12 community hospitals, specialist inpatient facilities and a wide range of integrated community and mental health services for a population of almost 800,000 people.

Whether you’re looking to work with us in one of our bustling market towns, vibrant urban locations, thriving seaside spots, or among the rolling hills of Dorset, there are lots of ways you can make a difference in our communities.
Our 7,000-strong workforce is at the heart of what we do and our success is a testament to our brilliant people. We're all about building a workplace for the future, we believe in equal opportunities and we celebrate diversity. We understand that AI can be a useful tool when completing your application. Your supporting statement should be in your own words and must accurately reflect your personal experience and achievements. Where we have concerns that AI has been used to generate content that misrepresents your experience and suitability for the role, we may withdraw your application.
