Job overview

University Hospitals of Northamptonshire (UHN) is looking to recruit motivated and ambitious Finance Business Partners to join our Financial Management Team.

We are seeking CCAB-qualified accountants with significant financial management experience, strong analytical skills and excellent communication abilities. You will be comfortable explaining complex financial information to non-finance colleagues, constructively challenging where appropriate and building effective working relationships across the organisation.

This is an exciting opportunity for qualified finance professionals to play a key role in supporting operational and clinical leaders to deliver high-quality patient care within available resources. Working as part of a dynamic and supportive finance team, you will provide expert financial advice, business partnering support and analytical insight to help services achieve their operational and financial objectives.

Main duties of the job

You will work closely with  Divisional leadership teams, leading on financial reporting, forecasting, budget setting, efficiency programmes and business case development. You will provide clear, practical guidance to non-finance colleagues and help ensure key decisions are based on robust financial and performance information.

The role offers a varied and rewarding portfolio with opportunities to influence decisions across a wide range of services. You will support the identification and delivery of efficiency opportunities, use benchmarking and patient-level costing information to drive improvement, and contribute to the ongoing development of financial systems and processes.

·       Providing expert financial advice and developing strong business partnering relationships.

·       Leading monthly reporting, forecasting and analytical review for the relevant services.

·       Supporting budget setting, business planning and the development of robust business cases.

·       Identifying, costing, forecasting and monitoring efficiency opportunities.

·       Using service line reporting, patient-level costing and benchmarking to inform decisions.

·       Leading, supporting and developing members of the divisional finance team.

Whether you are looking to broaden your experience or take the next step in your NHS finance career, this is an excellent opportunity to join a forward-thinking team committed to continuous improvement and delivering value for our patients and communities.
