Job overview
We are seeking to recruit a skilled, experienced Clinical Team Manager to work within our Acute Hospital (Mental Health) Liaison Service (AHLS), based at Scarborough General Hospital. The role is fast paced, unique and challenging - we are looking for someone who is highly motivated, innovative, enthusiastic and autonomous who demonstrates an eagerness to continuously develop the service. To effectively support the Team, this role has a clinical component alongside operational management.
The Team Manager will work closely with our existing Band 7 Practice Development Practitioner and core members of our skilled multi-disciplinary team. You will be working at the interface between physical medicine and psychiatry, bringing your knowledge and expertise to complex discussions and decision-making together with Acute Hospital colleagues.
As Clinical Team Manager you will need excellent communication and leadership skills to ensure effective collaborative working. You will have the confidence and skills to support your Team to respond to a variety of referrals. You will support colleagues to think holistically in relation to physical and mental health needs of patients. The successful candidate will demonstrate sound experience of risk assessment and safety planning and will be committed to the principles of co-creation.
Main duties of the job
AHLS accept referrals from SGH via A&E and inpatient wards, providing a 24/7 comprehensive service to patients, clinicians & carers. People are referred with a wide range of needs, including self-harm, functional and organic mental illness. For some people this may be their first contact with mental health services, making their interaction with us a critical part of their recovery journey.
The Team Manger will be skilled at managing operational systems, whilst compassionately supporting and leading staff. You will fulfil the role of primary contact for the Acute Trust, which is essential to build excellent working relationships.
You will have good leadership skills and be motivated to develop the service, to achieve the best possible outcomes for patients, providing the right care, in the right place, at the right time, by the right person.
Daily roles include:
- Management of referrals to support effective, timely care delivery
- Performance monitoring & management of the service, resource & budgetary responsibilities
- To ensure that the team functions in line with the core business of the Care Group
- To be instrumental in the further development of the Urgent Care Pathway
This role is all about working with your peers to drive positive change and creating a working environment where others can thrive. It is an exciting role, that welcomes registered RMNs, OTs or Social Workers, and those who possess strong mental health assessment and therapeutic skills.
