Job overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Endoscopy Department for a Full-Time Band 6 who is professional, enthusiastic and innovative who has an interest in JAG accreditation. The successful candidate should demonstration a kind and compassionate attitude. Their skills and experience to provide clinical leadership to ensure care is delivered effectively and efficiently within the unit. Evidence of experience within endoscopy is essential.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will be a competent clinical staff member who will provide effective leadership in support of the unit manager and deputy manager, supervising a team of nurses to ensure best standards of specialized care is provided. Work collaboratively and co-operatively with the unit manager and Matron to develop services provided for patients within the endoscopy unit. The successful candidate will be responsible for working towards and maintaining JAG status for the department working as part of the multi disciplinary team for gastroenterology.
Will demonstrate significant clinical Endoscopy experience and achieved documented and evidenced competency in all aspects of endoscopy nursing. Provide sound clinical expertise to their team and be a role model for expert clinical care within the Endoscopy department, and lead on specific projects / management functions as delegated by the Senior Sister / Charge Nurse. Demonstrate a significant level of specialist clinical knowledge and expertise in the clinical functions of care delivery including knowledge of JAG/GRS/Decontamination. They will provide advice and guidance and be responsible for the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of programmes of care for all patients within the Endoscopy department.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
