Band 5 Registered Nurse – Ward 14 Discharge Unit
Fixed Term: 3 months (until 31/03/2026)

Main duties of the job
As a Band 5 Registered Nurse on the Discharge Unit, you will provide high-quality, compassionate care to patients who are medically fit for discharge but require short-term support before leaving hospital. You will:
- Assess and monitor patients to ensure safe, timely discharge.
- Coordinate care plans, medications, and follow-up arrangements.
- Work closely with multidisciplinary teams to improve patient flow.
- Maintain infection prevention standards and best practice.
- Support patients with complex needs

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
The Band 5 Registered Nurse will work within Ward 14 Discharge Unit, a dedicated area supporting patients who are medically fit for discharge but require short-term care or coordination before leaving hospital. This role is essential in improving patient flow, reducing delays, and ensuring safe, timely discharge while maintaining high standards of infection prevention and patient care.
