Job overview

This is an exciting opportunity to join the new Pharmacy Clinical Trials team at Glan Clwyd Hospital as a Clinical Trials Pharmacy Technician. Working within a supportive and forward-thinking team, you will contribute to the delivery of a high-quality, patient-focused service supporting innovative research across North Wales.

The role will involve working closely with pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, and research teams, supporting clinical trials across a range of specialties including oncology and haematology. This is an excellent opportunity to develop specialist skills in clinical trials and build experience within a growing and evolving service.

Main duties of the job

You will support the day-to-day delivery of the clinical trials pharmacy service, including dispensing and checking clinical trial prescriptions, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring the safe storage and handling of investigational medicinal products in line with Good Clinical Practice and departmental procedures. You will assist with ordering, stock control, temperature monitoring, and maintenance of trial documentation, ensuring all records meet regulatory requirements.

The role requires strong attention to detail, good organisational skills, and the ability to manage workload in a busy environment. You will work both independently and as part of a team, communicating effectively with pharmacy, clinical, and research staff. You will also contribute to training, service improvement, and audit activities, with support to develop your skills and knowledge within this specialist area.

Please note that this post includes participation in a weekend and public holiday rota to support the wider Pharmacy service.
