Job overview

Please note for Welsh students, you must apply via Streamlining where all available jobs can be located.

Are you a caring and compassionate Registered Nurse or are just about to qualify and are looking for a fresh or new opportunity?

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our friendly and established team on Ward 2 and we would like you to join us.

Ward 2 is a busy 24 bedded fast paced ward and is an area of continuous development. We specialise in acute medicine and emergency admissions for the older patient.  This will provide you with the opportunity to extend both your knowledge and skills within the care of the older people within their acute phase of hospital admission.

This role would suit someone who is passionate about making a difference and helping to offer high quality, safety driven nursing care.

We are a friendly department with a positive ethos. You will be joining a team of dedicated nursing staff who will provide you with the skills to flourish, develop and be encouraged to excel.  You will be working as part of our dedicated multi-disciplinary team and we will value you, and your contribution to delivering excellent, safe and compassionate care to our patients.

If you think this is the opportunity for you, and would like to join our friendly and welcoming team then we’d love to hear from you.

Main duties of the job

The ideal candidate must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a flexible approach to work.  A commitment to delivering high standards of patient focused care is an essential requirement.  You must be open to change and have the drive and commitment to aim to get it right for every patient every time.

You will possess the ability to work on your own initiative whilst working as part of the wider multi-disciplinary team and have the ability to develop relationships across professional and organisational boundaries.  Providing patient centred care and be able to prioritise, assess, plan, evaluate and deliver all relevant aspects of care. That contribute to the processes that promote patient safety, harm free and quality of care in line with clinical governance frameworks in a busy, fast paced, ever changing and often challenging environment.

You should be able to demonstrate a real enthusiasm for acute medicine and the older person as well as a desire for on-going professional development to which training opportunities will be offered within the supportive learning environment we offer

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
