Job overview

We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic, motivated person who will provide secretarial support within the Neonatal Service within Children & Young People’s Division based at Glan Clwyd.

Main duties of the job

The successful candidate will have a good standard of education, excellent communication skills, be able to work on their own initiative and be efficient and organised with their own workload. The candidate should also have excellent keyboard skills and experience of Microsoft Office Package. The post holder will be expected to undertake a variety of duties within the role including covering the Neonatal ward clerk role when required.

A good telephone manner essential. The ability to speak Welsh would be beneficial but is not essential. The post holder will be required to demonstrate a professional and sensitive manner and maintain confidentiality at all times.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • NVQ Business Administration L3 or equivalent experience. RSA /OCR level 2 or equivalent experience (must be a proficient user of Microsoft word. IT related qualification CLAIT plus /ECDL or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of a range of administrative processes. Experience of working in a busy office environment. . Competently communicates professionally and effectively with all levels of staff both verbally and in writing. Proficient in use of Microsoft office applications. Experienced in planning organising and prioritise own workload. Flexible and adaptable to changing service demands. Excellent organisational skills.
  • Evidence of Continual Personal development. Ability to deal with sensitive information.
  • Team player. Approachable /Friendly Confident manner. Reliable. Develops own practice through reflection and learning. Empathetic.
  • Able to travel to meet the requirements of the post.
Desirable criteria
  • AMSPAR – City & Guilds L3. NVQ Customer Service L3.
  • Experience of working within the NHS.
  • Minute-taking skills.
  • Knowledge of NHS Organisations. Medical terminology.
  • Welsh Speaking.
