An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and motivated person to work within the Acute Stroke Occupational Therapy Team in Glan Clwyd Hospital as a Band 3 Occupational Therapy Assistant Practitioner. This post is 22.5 hours per week for up to nine months covering a maternity leave.
Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will be working alongside the Occupational Therapists and as part of the wider stroke multi-disciplinary team. The main focus of this role is supporting the Occupational Therapists to maximise patients’ independence and facilitate hospital discharges. The role can include completing personal care practice, upper limb therapy to improve function, cognitive tasks and mobility and transfer practice. The post holder must have excellent communication skills and previous stroke experience is desirable.
There will also be various administration tasks involved on a day to day basis. Computer proficiency is needed as documentation is electronic and equipment ordering is via an electronic system.
This post is an integral part of the team and is essential to support the delivery of the Occupational Therapy service provided to patients in this setting.
