An exciting opportunity has become available for a Chief Pharmacy Technician within Central Integrated Health Community (CIHC).

Main duties of the job

We are looking for an experienced registered pharmacy technician who can demonstrate strong professional leadership qualities and a strategic vision, and who possesses excellent communication skills. The role will work collaboratively across the pharmacy services offered in Central IHC (Secondary Care, Primary Care and Community Services) to identify new opportunities for Pharmacy that will add value to patient centred care and drive service improvements and efficiencies.

As Chief Pharmacy Technician you will be a member of the Pharmacy Senior Management Team within the CIHC and support service improvement projects and development programmes that contribute to the modernisation of our pharmacy services.

Through autonomous working, the role will support and deputise for the Pharmacy Hospital Operations Manager to ensure the smooth operation of the Pharmacy Service on a day to day basis.

Qualifications and/or Knowledge

Essential criteria
  • Experience working at Masters level
  • Postgraduate diploma level qualification
  • Current registered Pharmacy Technician with the General Pharmaceutical Council.
  • A substantial level of post qualification experience in a broad range of pharmacy services
  • Team leader and management experience
  • Post Graduate Diploma level qualification in Management Studies or equivalent experience
  • Accredited Checking Technician
  • Member of the APTUK. QCF Work Based Assessor

Experience

Essential criteria
  • A substantial level of post qualification experience in pharmacy services
  • Experience in a broad range of pharmacy services
  • Strong operational management experience
  • Experience of managing all aspects of human resources
  • Experience of conflict management
  • Experience of budget management
  • Experience of success in service development and policy implementation
  • Experience of managing pharmacy IT systems
  • Significant experience of managing pharmacy team(s)in a hospital environment
  • Experience of change management in complex situations
