An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and motivated band 5 medicines management Pharmacy Technician to join our pharmacy team on the Discharge Lounge/Hub.
This post will contribute to Medicines Management services at Glan Clwyd Hospital with a focus on safe, effective and timely discharge by liaising with our discharge lounge/hub team. Particularly key to the role will be the multi-disciplinary engagement, patient counselling and provision of medicines information.
Main duties of the job
We are looking for a progressive and proactive Pharmacy Technician with strong problem solving skills. Applicants must be self-motivated and organised. You will be able to work effectively alone and as part of a team and contribute to the process of service development and innovation by your own initiative and enthusiasm.
You will act as an advocate for pharmacy services and guardian of medicines safety. You will be an excellent communicator with good interpersonal and relationship building skills.
The right candidate will be given the opportunity to enhance their knowledge and skills further through development opportunities supported by our friendly and experienced team.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Qualifications
Essential criteria
- Registered Pharmacy Technician with the General Pharmaceutical Council.
- Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Pharmacy Services Skills (QCF) or equivalent.
- National Accredited Checking Pharmacy Technician Qualification
- National Accredited Medicines Management Qualification or work towards
Experience
Essential criteria
- Must be able to demonstrate suitable level of experience.
- General dispensing
- Working in hospital pharmacy dispensary services
- Basic knowledge of the therapeutic use of drugs
Aptitude and Abilities
Essential criteria
- Able to use IT to use the pharmacy system, produce reports, gather and analyse data and produce presentations.
- Is aware of, and is able to work within own limitations.
- Ability to organise own workload and support the workload of the department.
Desirable criteria
- Ability to speak Welsh
