Job overview
Are you a highly motivated and experienced Respiratory Physiotherapist looking for a new challenge or to progress into a Band 7 post? A rare opportunity has arisen to join the Physiotherapy Team at Ysbyty Glan Clwyd as the Clinical Specialist Physiotherapist for Acute and Critical Care.
This is a fast-paced post leading a team covering Critical Care, Respiratory Medicine, General Surgery, Vascular and Maxillo-Facial / Head & Neck in-patients.
The position affords the ability for the successful applicant to concentrate their clinical skills in one or more of these areas alongside a significant supervision / teaching role.
You will be supported by static specialist, rotational and assistant staff alongside a well-defined management structure.
The hospital has recently undergone extensive re-modelling and boasts a dedicated In-Patient Therapies Unit for acute rehabilitation and modernised ward spaces.
Please note that this is a 7 day working post.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
Main duties of the job
- Development and delivery of high quality service within own Physiotherapy sub specialism across BCUHB.
- Assessment and management of complex patients.
- Develop opportunities for practice which extends the scope of traditional Physiotherapy.
- Training and support of Physiotherapists and support staff to deliver high quality, evidence based service provision.
- Governance arrangements within the sub-specialty area.

- Degree / Graduate Diploma in relevant Therapy
- HCPC registered
- Obtained or working towards post graduate (Masters) qualification
- Able to demonstrate continuing professional development eg up to date, relevant CPD portfolio

- Management/Leadership Training
- CSP member
- Extended scope skills
Experience
Essential criteria
- Extensive experience working as a Senior Physiotherapist in clinical specialty
- Experience of delivering clinical education in area of specialty
- Evidence of teaching within post
- Proven multidisciplinary working
- Experience of audit
Desirable criteria
- Experience of lecturing externally
- Involvement in research
- Competency in extended scope practice in the specialism

- Advanced clinical practice and clinical reasoning skills to specialist level
