Job overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, organised and pro-active Speech and Language Therapist to provide high quality Speech and Language Therapy services for patients with communication disorders and dysphagia within inpatient care at Ysbyty Glan Clwyd Hospital (Bodelwyddan). This role will also involve support and transition to outpatient services.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will work within Adult Speech and Language Therapy service in the Acute setting (general surgical, medical, COTE, Critical Care and stroke wards) which includes: Triage of referrals; Caseload allocation and prioritisation; Assessment, treatment and management of patients within the inpatient setting; Supporting the organisation and efficient flow of caseloads; Planning and supporting transition to community services as part of discharge from hospital.
The role involves delivery of training and education to the wider MDT and Band 5 Speech and Language Therapy colleagues in dysphagia and communication. Clinical Education to Speech and Language Therapy students will also be a part of this role.
CPD and clinical supervision are encouraged and supported within BCUHB Speech and Language Therapy Services.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
