Job overview

Community Paediatricians are specialist children's doctors who have a particular expertise in the management of children with long term health problems which may have an impact on other areas of their life.

The purpose of the service is to undertake the assessment and treatment of children with developmental problems such as delayed milestones, learning disabilities, Autism, Cerebral Palsy, and Attention Deficit Disorder (ADHD). We also see Children in Care for their regular health check and we also see children for whom there are child protection concerns.

We are currently looking for a Receptionist to work 30 hours per week on a Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday mainly at Kingswood Hub with some cover at Patchway Hub, who excels in customer service, has strong communication skills and team spirit. The successful candidate will ideally have customer service experience and be able to pay attention to detail. Candidates should be reliable and flexible with accurate keyboard/data entry skills. A strong communicator, both written and verbally, with excellent attention to detail. They will have the ability to work independently as well as in a team environment and have an understanding of the importance of confidentiality/Information Governance.

Main duties of the job

To welcome and assist patients, relatives and visitors on arrival to the Hub and inform appropriate staff. This may require acting with resilience to deal with sometimes distressed patients and relatives in a professional and empathetic manner

To answer telephone calls in a polite and timely manner

To escalate any problems and queries to the roles line manager or relevant clinical staff as appropriate

To provide a clerical service to the wider clinical team within the team calling patients, copying, scanning and booking meeting/clinical rooms
