Job overview
We are looking for a Clinical Psychologist to join our child autism assessment service, serving our Bristol, South Gloucestershire and North Somerset communities.
The Heads of Child Psychology are committed to compassionate and inclusive leadership and to creating a nurturing and psychologically safe working environment. We value our team members, their development and their overall wellbeing. There will be the option of working from home for part of the week and some flexibility in working pattern to fit around the post holder’s personal responsibilities. You will receive regular supervision and line management from a Clinical Psychologist, with opportunities for reflective practice and protected time and funds for CPD.
This post would suit someone who enjoys providing complex assessment and formulation to children, young people and families. This role will involve working with high levels of family distress, mental health difficulties, and a range of risk type behaviours. It is an exciting opportunity to work within a multi-disciplinary team including Speech and Language Therapists, Community Paediatricians and Nurses. Neurodevelopmental transformation is on the horizon.
The successful applicant will be working predominantly from Osprey Court (South Bristol), but will also need to travel to other clinical bases in the region, as well as schools and family homes. NICE guidelines will inform all aspects of clinical work.
Main duties of the job
You will be joining the Emotional Behavioural Wellbeing team, consisting of Clinical Psychologists, Specialist Nurses and an Assistant Clinical Psychologist - offering assessments to children and young people with complex social-emotional-behavioural presentations.
Differential diagnosis and formulation is a key part of this role, so the post-holder will have neurodevelopmental as well as mental health experience. This is an exciting opportunity for a dynamic and innovative clinician wanting to improve the outcomes for this population.
