Job overview
We have an opportunity for a Music Therapist to join our friendly and highly skilled Arts Therapies Team within Sirona's Adult Learning Disability Health Service (ALDHS).
You'll become part of a team of 11 Art, Drama and Music Therapists supporting adults, children and young people with learning disabilities across Bristol, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire.
This is a rewarding opportunity to use your creativity and clinical expertise to support people with complex communication, mental health and behavioural needs. You'll deliver specialist individual and group music therapy, undertake assessments and formulations, and work closely with families, carers and multidisciplinary colleagues to achieve meaningful outcomes.
As a valued member of our service, you'll also provide specialist advice and consultation, contribute to service development and quality improvement projects, and offer clinical supervision within the Arts Therapies Team.

Main duties of the job
As a Music Therapist, you will deliver specialist individual and group interventions for adults and children with learning disabilities, undertaking assessments, formulations and therapeutic support.
You'll work closely with families, carers and multidisciplinary colleagues, providing expert advice, consultation and clinical supervision.
The role includes contributing to wider Mental Health and Behaviour Team responsibilities, including allocations, advice and guidance, dementia, access and transitions assessments, while developing specialist knowledge in loss and bereavement.

Essential criteria
- MA Music therapy
- HCPC registered
Desirable criteria
- Additional relevant trainings since qualifying as a music therapist
Skills, Experience, Knowledge
Essential criteria
- Skills and competency to work with service users with complex trauma needs and associated risk (e.g. behaviours that challenge, mental illness, suicidal ideation)
- Experience of working within multi-disciplinary teams. Able to work effectively, with a wide range of professionals, as part of a team.
- Can demonstrate an understanding of the barriers and vulnerabilities that people with learning disabilities face.
Desirable criteria
- Experience in delivering training
- Experience in providing clinical supervision to other music therapists

You must have appropriate UK professional registration.
