Nurse Associate - Urgent Treatment Centre

NHS AfC: Band 4

Job overview

Are you a Nursing Associate looking for a new challenge? Fancy not having to work on call or nights? If so, look no further as South Bristol Urgent Treatment Centre (UTC)!

The UTC is a busy urgent care service that operates 8am to 8pm 7 days a week, 52 weeks a year. We provide unscheduled care to patients self-presenting or referred via several pathways to the service with illness or injury presentations. We assess, manage and discharge or refer to specialist teams.

The UTC is looking to grow and support band 4 clinicians to help support the urgent care agenda. We have an opportunity for a Band 4 position in our friendly unit. We are keen to talk to you about how you could enhance our supportive and highly skilled team of physiotherapist, paramedic and nurse practitioners delivering high quality urgent care.

Due to the UTC opening hours and service delivery requirements the successful candidate must be able to work a proportion of hours in the evenings and at weekends.

Main duties of the job

As a Nurse Associate, your main duties will include providing evidenced based care under indirect supervision, delivering advice and treatment to adults and children, providing treatments that include, wound care and plastering of limbs.

You will also initiate the onward referral of patients and be able to recognise and manage patient pathways for patients who may require further intervention or specialist referral to inpatient, outpatient or community-based teams.

You will promote health and independence and offer health education as appropriate. e.g. wound care advice, alcohol use, plaster and mobility aid use.
