Main duties of the job
In this advanced clinical role, you will:
- Provide expert assessment, diagnosis, and treatment planning for individuals with complex podiatric needs
- Work autonomously and as part of a wider MDT across a range of community settings
- Lead and support the continuous improvement of clinical pathways within:

- High-risk foot care (diabetes and vascular)
- Complex wound care
- Nail surgery service

- Act as a source of expert advice and clinical leadership across the podiatry team and wider health system
- Supervise and mentor podiatry staff, students, and other AHP and Nursing colleagues
- Contribute to service development, quality improvement, audit, and evidence-based practice
- Collaborate with system partners to ensure equitable, effective care across BNSSG

Qualifications
Essential criteria
- Degree in Podiatric Medicine
- HCPC registration
- Completed the Advanced Practice MSc and been awarded the Centre for Advancing Practice (CfAP) Advanced Practice digital badge, OR been awarded another relevant MSc AND enrolled on the CfAP Supported (e-portfolio) route to gain your digital badge, OR you have demonstrable experience of working to an Advanced Practice level (MSc equivalent) across all four pillars AND you are enrolled on the CfAP Supported (e-portfolio) route to gain your digital badge
Desirable criteria
- Recognised post graduate management / leadership qualification, working towards one or willingness to undertake.
- Teaching qualification
- Undertaken research as a chief or principle investigator
- Experience of developing practice guidelines and governance frameworks
Skills, Experience, Knowledge
Essential criteria
- Excellent communication skills with teams, colleagues and system partners
- Experience of leading care planning
- Experience of professional and management procedures within own area and across several related disciplines relevant to service area.
- Experience of medicines management within your own practice either through an independent prescribing qualification or through use of patient group directions or patient specific directives
- Demonstrates ability to take overall responsibility and accountability
- Ability to organise and prioritise own workload effectively
Desirable criteria
- Experience of working at Advanced Practitioner level within a community health care setting
- Operational management experience including experience of managing and developing multi-disciplinary or integrated pathway teams in a variety of locations.
- Experienced in application of change management principles
- Experience of working with people from diverse cultural backgrounds
- Experience of teaching at Higher Education Institutions
