We have an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Psychologist to work within our Children’s LD/EY service across Conwy & Denbighshire
The team consists of clinical psychologists, speech and language therapists, nurses, paediatricians, advanced-nurse practitioners and support staff.
Under the supervision of a Clinical Psychologist, you will be involved in supporting psychological assessment and formulation activities, as well as offering brief intervention. There will be opportunities to develop your skills in audit and clinical research and support various service development projects whilst continuing your professional development.
We have excellent links with the North Wales Clinical Psychology Programme.
Main duties of the job

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Essential criteria
- 2.1 Honours Degree in Psychology or its equivalent for those trained overseas
Desirable criteria
- Attendance at skills development courses or training
Experience
Essential criteria
- Previous experience of work with children or young people and families within a clinical, social care or educational setting
Desirable criteria
- Previous experience of work with clients within more than one clinical social care or educational setting
Knowledge
Essential criteria
- Some knowledge and understanding of the client group with whom the post holder will be working
Desirable criteria
- Ability to speak Welsh
